Inflammation SOS, pay attention to the slap on your back

Some years ago, after a heartbreak, a well-meaning friend encouraged me to get out “there” again and to start dating. To help me with a swift kick, she set me up on a blind date.

It started off simple enough. It was a good thing, right? He was handsome and accomplished and came to pick me up to take me to dinner. We had an enjoyable conversation on the phone, and he knew someone I cared about, so it should have been a big win.

But here, my story takes a wrong turn. As I got into his car, he had so much cologne on; I couldn’t breathe. I was horrified. I rasped at him to stop the car and I got out gasping for air, I apologized and explained that I couldn’t join him for dinner. I was having a severe reaction to his cologne. He needed to leave. We hadn’t gotten very far down my street, so I walked home.

That should have been the end of it. But he didn’t give up and called the next day to reschedule.

So we try again. Somehow we had a disconnect; he came to pick me up, and as he entered my front door I realized he still was doused with an overwhelming amount of cologne, it was just a different fragrance.

I asked him what the deal was, did he not understand that I was obviously allergic to his cologne? He told me he had never had a woman tell him he took her breath away before, and he laughed.

Yep, He took my breathe away, and it could have killed me.

Needless to say, I never saw him again. He is memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.

I had had minor reactions to fragrance in the past, but nothing like this. This was a new one.

So why did I want to share my story with you today?

Because we don’t recognize toxic load when it begins. I had started having reactions in stages to things that I had never been sensitive to earlier, but once I was sensitive, my reactions escalated and got increasingly worse.

We all have so many toxins in our lives; we don’t stop to think about the long-term damage they are doing to our body. Think this could never happen to you? Think again. It’s the cumulative effect of all of the toxins. I am to a point now, where my husband says I am a toxic alarm for anything in a 50 mile radius.

Inflammation and autoimmune disease take 17 years in the body to develop, from when the seed is planted, to rearing its ugly little head. Purging toxins now, before the real trouble begins, needs to start today for all of us.

I have had a joke for years, that when the universe wants me to “get” something, first I get a little slap on the face (NCIS style), then I get a thump on my back, and if I am still oblivious, I get hit with a 2×4 over my head. Cologne man was the thump on my back, but I didn’t realize that the 2×4 was just around the corner.

My autoimmune disease happened over many, many years, and I started having reactions in stages to different everyday products. It never occurred to me that these products used toxic ingredients. Over the next couple of days, I will share some of my other horrific stories. *smile* But whether this is happening to you or not, the toxins have their effect, and it is best to pay attention now before it erupts into inflammation and disease.

Why do you think we are becoming so sick as a nation? The toxins are poisoning each of us, one by one.

My book “It Feels Good to Feel Good” takes you through the toxins in your everyday life, identifies them, and makes suggestions for replacements. If my choices are not right for you, I tell you how to investigate, where to get the information that you need, and how to make better choices. I am a big believer in “don’t use this, use that.” And, when you purchase my book, if you write and request it I will email you an eworkbook so that you can organize purging these toxins one by one.

There are hundreds of toxins in your daily life, and you can not possibly do it all at once. It took me five years. What is important is that you start somewhere, and you start now. If you stop pouring gasoline on the fire, the flame of inflammation is reduced and can even go out.

There are toxins in your food, in your cosmetics, in your drinking water, in your over the counter drugs, in your cooking utensils, in your cleaning supplies, and even in your mind that need attention and need to be cleaned up.

If you have pain, inflammation, stress, severe allergies, a sick child, or if you and your family are healthy and you want to stay that way, this book is for you.

You can put a program into place to keep you healthy and to create a healthy family. If you have pain and are sick, this is a great place to start because these are lifestyle changes you can make now, without a doctor, to improve your own wellness. If you clean out the toxins, you can start to find relief and feel great again.

I wrote the book that I wish had been available when I got sick. All of this information is available if you dig for this information on Google, but in the beginning, I didn’t even know what I was looking for. My conventional doctor thought it was all in my head, so I was on my own. I wanted to get all of the information into one place so that I could help others, and am proud to present it to you now.

I am also offering a free 1 hour “Tell Me Your Story” phone or Skype conversation with me, which is a delicious hour all about you. If you are in the Monrovia, California area, we can meet in person in my office. In this session, I will listen to your health issues, and most importantly, I will “hear” you. I will practice “compassionate” coaching if you choose to hire me, because I have walked in your shoes, and have come out the other side to a healthier vibrant life.  You can contact me through my website https://cherylmhealthmuse.com.
